About

Greetings and salutations! My name is Mik. I’d drink whiskey for my day job, but since no one has decided to pay me for that I do the next best thing – use the proceeds from my actual day job to buy whiskey, and then drink it. But it’s not just whiskey that I like. I’m a fan of almost all drinks, and will try anything once.

I only have one rule – quality over quantity. There is a corollary: quality in quantity can be acceptable.

Whiskey is also the name of my dog. He will make occasional appearances to break up the monotony. I’ll also incorporate other aspects of my life into this blog. My major hobbies are board- and video-games, which to the surprise of no one go really well with booze. I fully intend to explore this intersection of my interests.

Hi! I’m Evan! I’ve been drinking whiskey since I was a teething babe. Like my colleague,  I’ve been drinking whiskey with the fervor of a professional for a long time. I realized early that I preferred good taste to cheap cost, and have been working my way through the whiskey world a bottle at a time ever since! My preference is for the smokey, peated Islay scotches, but I am known to adore a good bourbon or rye as well.

Ratings: These are a thing we will do, occasionally. Maybe. What we rate, and how, can change. That 30-year scotch is excellent for a celebration but it doesn’t fit in with an all-day booze-and-game fest. So ratings will look at the totality of the circumstances. Or not. Who knows. Not us.

Samples: Yes please!
