Oh. My. God. This bar has my new all-time-favorite drink: the Needle in the Hay. I felt like I was cheating on my wife with it. It was that good.

Tequila, mezcal, Apple liqueur, and maple syrup. Mixed up and then smoked.
The flavors are complex, and layered, and come at you from all angles. The first thing you taste is that sour apple. Not overwhelming, but it is fruit forward – initially. Then the mezcal and tequila come into play. The way this drink is put together the flavors are more reminiscent of a whiskey drink than an agave drink.

You can bet I got the ratios. The bartender was kind enough to let me take a picture of their recipe page. Maybe I’ll share it someday.
The other drinks were really excellent, too. They had a house-infused bourbon that was a religious experience. It makes a kick ass old fashioned.
Cheers!
